About Me

My name is Jacqueline Ruddy.  I am a Humanist Celebrant with Humanity Is Scotland, and I am authorized to solemnize marriages (almost many other things!).

In my previous career as a medical clinician, I would treat and respect my client as an individual with unique needs, wants and views, and would never impose my values or beliefs on them – all very useful skills to have as a Humanist Celebrant. 

I have a flair for writing, and a good sense of humour (if required!), and as such, I have the skills to help ensure that you have the ceremony that you desire and deserve.  

Be it a funeral, wedding, naming or divorce healing ceremony, I will compose and conduct a beautiful, unique ceremony entirely for you and you alone.

We cannot thank Jac enough for creating and delivering our very personalised wedding ceremony. She gave us a thorough questionnaire to fill in of our love story and we had a great meeting where she worked on the finer details of what makes us “us”. We didn’t it make it easy on Jac for a family-friendly wedding, due to our engagement story, but the ever professional Jac managed it. She blew us away with how personalised, funny and at ease she made us feel on the day. Every single guest commented on how amazing our ceremony was. Dear Jac conducted our wedding ceremony, and we couldn't have asked for better - what a star! She was so patient and kind, and tolerated my many flaps! She was very knowledgeable too, and I was very confident that she would do a great job on the day, which she did. Everyone commented on how funny and poignant the ceremony was, and many thought that she knew me and Bryan personally. I can't recommend her highly enough.
